BAD+ 2023: Bordeaux, France

4 - 7 May 2023

Anna Nova Gallery participates in the BAD+ contemporary art and design fair in Bordeaux, France with a new solo project by Anna Andrzhievskaya 'Beauty and Escapism'.

In this new series of paintings created in 2022 and 2023 in Barcelona, the artist addresses the themes of escape, refuge, dream and waking travel and fantastic shifts. They showcase all sorts of fanciful chimeras, animated flowers and plants, and vague signs. All of them are part of unearthly plots and events, like traveling to other worlds, escaping, and mysteries, which sometimes are touching, but can also stir up pity, astonishment, or even fear.

One of the features of this year's BAD+ fair is a special focus on the Spanish art scene. 'We realized that Spanish galleries were not well represented in French fairs," says the Artistic Advisor of BAD+ Art Fair Adrien de Rochebouët, - 'It seemed obvious to us that we should make them more visible, especially since Spain is geographically close to Bordeaux.' The works presented by Anna Andrzhievskaya, who currently lives and works in Barcelona, has references to Spanish nature and culture.

This is the first international fair in which Anna Nova Gallery participates this year.
