My work can be seen as a therapy for the uncertain future
American artist Jonathan Monaghan creates prints, sculptures, and video installations. Drawing inspiration from a wide variety of sources, from science fiction to Baroque architecture, he creates whimsical and compelling stories and imagery, while using the most advanced technology that Hollywood professionals and video game designers work with.
His projects were presented at international exhibitions, including solo exhibitions at the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, Spazio Ridotto in Venice and Market Gallery in Glasgow. Group exhibitions were at the Hermitage, at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, and at the Sundance and Ars Electronica Animation festivals.
