Ольга Татаринцева b. 1967

Olga Tatarintseva is a Moscow artist. Works in creative tandem with Oleg Tatarintsev. The artistic duo is known for its multimedia projects in which painting, graphics, objects, video and sound are combined in a single conceptual thought. The paintings are the exclusive authorship of Olga. In their projects, they often turn to phenomena and concepts related to disturbing socio-political events of the past, and place them in a modern context without any edifying commentary. One of the aspects of their artistic research is a creative dialogue with philosophers and authors of the XX century, including Martin Heidegger, Hannah Arendt, Daniel Harms, Ludwig Wittgenstein, etc.

 

Solo exhibitions of artists were held at the Rappaz Museum (Basel, Switzerland), Nadja Brykina Gallery (Zurich, Switzerland), the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (Moscow, Russia) and the pop/off/art Gallery (Moscow, Russia). The artists' projects have been shown at group exhibitions in France, Switzerland, Chile, USA, Poland, Germany, Russia and Ukraine.

 

The participants of the International Biennale of contemporary art and ceramics in Vallauris (2014), the parallel program of the European biennial of contemporary art Manifesta 11 (2016), International Biennale of contemporary art Aluminium (2019), a special project of the Ural industrial biennial of contemporary art (2015), a special project of the Moscow Biennale of contemporary art (2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017).

 

Tatarintsevs' works are in important museum collections, such as Magnelli Museum and Ceramics Museum (Vallauris, France), Rappaz Museum (Basel, Switzerland), Moscow Museum of Modern Art (Moscow, Russia), the State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg, Russia).
