Works by Andrey Kuzkin and Haim Sokol are on view at the New Tretyakov Gallery

Art of the second half of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st centuries from the collection of the Tretyakov Gallery can be seen until 11 September

On 11 June the State Tretyakov Gallery opened a large-scale project ‘A Thing. A Space. A Person’. The exhibition is dedicated to the most important pages of Russian art history of the 1960s and beginning of the 2000s: from abstractions and kinetic experiments, which inherited the discoveries of the Russian avant-garde, emergence of a new language of reality reflection and pattern-objects by the founders of the Moscow conceptualism to the experimental projects and installations by the contemporary artists.

The exposition is not divided into traditional epochs or styles: the selection of works is determined by the underlying themes in the history of art — man, space and world.

More than 170 exhibits are on view: paintings, sculptures, installations and photographic series. Among them are works by Andrey Kuzkin and Haim Sokol from the collection of the Tretyakov Gallery.

Curators: Irina Gorlova and Igor Volkov.

The exhibition runs through 11 September 2022 at the New Tretyakov Gallery (10 Krymsky Val, West wing, 3rd floor, Halls 1-2).
