The graphic works created by the artist are the most vivid reflection of her unique style. Anna uses the most common materials, which are color gel pens, pencils, gold highlighter pens, and watercolors made for kids. Fancifulness of these drawings makes you think of miniatures in medieval manuscripts, as the drawing technique and simple design suggest a tattoo or a picture from a school copybook. In her paintings, the artist works on a fancy bestiary and surrealistic iconography of her own.
‘I crave unpredictability when it comes to graphics,’ Anna explains. ‘Like you see it and have no idea how one could invent and draw all of it. On one hand, I want to puzzle the viewer, and on the other - to help him come to terms with abstractions. I add some easily recognizable elements in my drawings (or something that resembles them). When the viewers spot those, they feel as if they’ve discovered a starlet in the fierce space, and this makes them feel better. I think my graphic works are cheerful, and there is humor in them. When they turn out to be creepy, you have to know that it wasn’t my intent. I always want my artwork to be cheerful. What are my works about? Well, the first thing that crosses my mind is ‘about stupid things.’ I’d say they are about foolishness, something like a medieval carnival.’
