CREATION OF THE MYTH EXHIBITION OPENED IN EKATERINA CULTURAL FOUNDATION (MOSCOW)

THE EXPOSITION INCLUDES PIECES BY ULDUS BAKHTIOZINA, MARYA DMITRIEVA, AND FEDOR HIROSHIGE

On September 20, CREATION OF THE MYTH exhibition opened in the EKATERINA Cultural Foundation. It studies the origin of myths and myth creation as a process. When creating a myth, artists produce worlds of their own, in which they remove all the tricky conditions they don’t appreciate. Further, they replace them with symbolical landscapes and replenish them with whatever meanings they want to. When establishing a new mythological system, every author has to decipher an intricate reality.

The exhibition includes works by 100+ artists, each of them using various tools to make a new myth, from paintings and graphic images to media art. There, works by contemporary art classics and the new generation are engaged in a dialogue.

At the exhibition, you can see Uldus Bakhtiozina’s IF YOU’VE RUN OUT OF INNER LIGHT YOU REALLY MUST WEAR INCREADIBLE HEADDRESSES, Marya Dmitrieva’s SOLVE, Fedor Hiroshige’s SKETCH OF SYLVIA, CAMPFIRE, LOVE LETTER, MORNING COFFEE NO. 1, MORNING COFFEE NO. 2, and MORNING COFFEE NO. 3.

The exhibition will be open through November 17, 2024.
