A contemporary art garden – Art Garden Benua opened in the public space Benua 1890. Among the participants of the project, there is the work of our artist, Nestor Engelke.
Sleeper Area is a meditation on an ideal architectural form, on creating this mound from wood splinters, from the wreckage of a dream of the “constructive”. Late 19th century buildings together with the soviet "cosmic" architecture create a space for dialogue between the past and the present, natural and man-made. The works presented appeal to the actual problems affecting various social and philosophical contexts, such as loneliness in the network, blurring the boundaries of personality, the dictates of the metropolis, and threats to the ecology of the Planet.
