Since August 2018, the artist of the Anna Nova Gallery, Stas Bugs, is teaching at the studio of outsider art called Art Headquarters, which appeared in St. Petersburg with the support of the charitable organisation "Children of Pavlovsk".
This organisation supports graduates of the Pavlovsk orphanage, young people with mental characteristics, and artists living in psycho-neurological boarding schools of the city. Art Headquarters is the first autonomous studio of outsider art in St. Petersburg that is not tied to any institution.
"Outsider art or art brut is a sphere of art completely free of any patterns, stereotypes, fashion, dogma or canons. Art Headquarters has become a real island of freedom for our residents in the center of St. Petersburg where they come from their boarding schools. Most of the residents of the studio are young people with an interesting worldview, each of them has his own motive and his own manner. The presence of Stas in our team gives artists a lot of new opportunities in terms of working with objects, learning new drawing techniques and dealing with professional art materials. In this composition, we plan to bring this project to a wider audience and become a part of the art sphere of St. Petersburg".
