Denis Patrakeev's artworks in Belgium

Denis Patrakeev is taking part in the exhibition The Raft. Art is (not) Lonely in Belgium. The exhibition opened on the 21st of October in Ostend. 70 artists participate in this large-scale international project. Among them are stars of the world art stage - Bill Viola, Marina Ambramović, Monty Python and Ilya Kabakov. The curators are the famous artist Jan Fabre and art critic Joanna de Vos.

In the concept of the exhibition art is perceived as a raft, which takes the artist along the process of art-making. On it the artist is isolated from the surroundings, but is not alone since artworks communicate his ideas to the outside world. The basis of the philosophy of the exposition forms the painting The Raft of the Medusa by Théodore Géricault and Jan Fabre's sculpture Art is (not) Lonely. The exhibition is taking place throughout the whole of Ostend, giving the opportunity to visit places which an ordinary tourist cannot access: the Royal Lodge, the Court Building, the cellars of St. Joseph's Church.
